Ruth Guerri - Playboy USA - July 1983

Ruth Guerri (born February 12, 1958 in St. Louis, Missouri) is an American model and actress of Italian descent. She was Playboy magazine's Playmate of the Month for its July 1983 issue. Her centerfold was photographed by Arny Freytag and Stephen Wayda. Guerri was working as a model in her home town, primarily for Anheuser-Busch, at the time she became a Playmate. According to the 1996 edition of The Playmate Book, she married and had two daughters; at that time the family was living in Missouri in a log cabin and owned an antique store.

Visiting Chicago with a friend, Ruth stopped by the Playboy Model Agency to drop off her modeling portfolio. Recalling that magical visit in her Playmate Data Sheet she wrote, “I was sent to see Pompeo Posar and shortly after that we started testing.” In January 1979, Ruth was featured in “The Great Playmate Hunt” pictorial, the search for Playboy’s 25th Anniversary Playmate. Her Centerfold wouldn’t appear for three more years, but she kept busy working in TV commercials and modeling for her hometown brewery Anheuser-Busch. With all her mainstream success, why do Playboy? “Foremost,” Ruth wrote, “I think the magazine is a class act, and from a model’s viewpoint, I couldn’t resist working with such experienced and famous photographers. It’s all very exciting!”
